Casa Morgana began in Mexico City when Kiren Miret, a close friend of Dora’s family, traveled to Italy and trained as a Gelato Master. After returning home, she founded Helados Casa Morgana, combining authentic Italian gelato craftsmanship with the flavors and traditions she grew up with.
The brand grew through word of mouth. People came back not just for the gelato but for the feeling of it. The rigorous selection of ingredients, coupled with strict quality control in every batch, made Casa Morgana a benchmark for authentic gelato in Mexico City and beyond.
One of the most beloved Casa Morgana traditions is the special late-night sales during Dia de los Muertos. Kiren would serve Pan de Muerto gelato inspired by Mexicos sweet orange blossom-flavored bread dusted with sugar. Families came out late into the night, gathered around gelato the way they gather around the bread itself. That feeling is still what Casa Morgana is about.
Today, Luis and Dora carry that tradition forward in San Antonio. They are not running a franchise or a brand. They are continuing a legacy that started with a friendship, a journey to Italy, and a belief that gelato made the right way is worth the effort.

Our signature Morgana’s Goat Spell competed in the 2025 Global Gelato Festival, earning a spot in the semifinal in Houston and the final in Winston-Salem, NC. We are competing again in 2026.

In 2024 and 2025, our team competed in the Gelato Festival World Masters, earning a semifinalist finish in Houston and advancing to the national finals in Winston-Salem, NC.
